A Great Planet With Water Tanks And World Water Day Celebration

The average American neither sees nor appreciates water tanks primarily because there is sufficient supply of water in developed countries. A natural resource like water is so essential but few only understand this. Nations that are not so rich would probably desire a water tank so that they could have a good supply of water for their needs.

For that reason, we now celebrate World Water Day each year. The United Nations General Assembly has affirmed March 22 as the day that all should celebrate water. This celebration came to reality in 1993.

In this occasion, the United Nations requests all people to not turn on their faucets to be able to conserve water. For all countries to get involved, UN thinks of a certain theme each event. Water and the matters concerning our world can be a topic in a certain year.

Various agencies in various countries are present to help the UN in their celebration in conserving water. They help the UN by attracting people and the government for them to be able to encourage clean water. The special discussion group called the World Water Forum has always been there for the World Water Council since 1997.

The forum tackled the issue about the people in this present time that haven’t had access to water that is safe to use and drink. Safe water is something that all should have and it is very sad that those in first world countries just don’t care about it. What the Council did was to have an annual report about the status of water in various parts of the world.

Last year the theme was “Water for Cities: Responding to the Urban Challenge” and in 2010 it was “Clean Water for a Healthy World”. Much thought and consideration were clearly put into these socially relevant themes. From them, important messages and reports were circulated among governments and different agencies such as the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO), and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), among many others.

The water tank industry may seem small but it does big things. Water tanks are constructed so that safe and clean water will be conserved. Irrigation, farming and agriculture are some of the many beneficiaries and users of water tanks.

Back when civilization was still growing, early humans has already started building a water tank. Just by a river or a lake is where early humans would mostly live. As man decided to move away and further into land, it was necessary to learn how to conserve water using cisterns and earthen tanks.

Nowadays, a lot of industries in the United States still use water tanks. The most common ones are elevated tanks. The elevated water tank exerts pressure that can help water travel to various areas and houses.

Water tanks can be used for manufacturing purposes. With this, they are able to feed cattle, cows and animal herds plus water the field. The water tank business does not only produce water tanks: they also support the preservation of the natural resource and the saving of our planet.
